Applications for Action for Life 4 have now closed. If you have an application query, please contact us.
After you have sent in all the application documents, you should receive a reply confirming the receipt of your complete application within one week by email. If you have not supplied an email address, we will not be able to be in contact with you. If you have not supplied all application documentation, you will be notified, and all documentation must be in before the deadline.
After the application closing date of 15 October 2007, the core team will review all applications. From this review, a short list of applicants will be made. Those short listed will be contacted to arrange a telephone interview.
Telephone interviews will happen in December 2007 to January 2008. You may be interviewed more than once.
After the interview processes, a final selection of participants will happen. You will be notified by February 2008. Successful participants will then need to commence fundraising and meeting the Pre-AfL4 requirements. Action for Life will commence on 1 October 2008.
Participants will need to fund the following costs:
US$ 3,000 course fee as their contribution towards food, travel, accommodation and other program expenses for the 7 months.
Participants need to cover the costs of a return ticket, vaccinations, travel and health insurance, and a six month visa to India. No participant will be permitted to commence the program without travel and health insurance.
Participants should provide personal pocket money for themselves.
AfL could not happen without generous financial support from around the world. Contributions - large or small - will be gratefully accepted at any time. Click here to find out how to sponsor AfL.
Action for Life is committed to ensuring that all people have a chance at participating on the program regardless of their personal economic situation. Some may require financial support. Each participant is expected to do their upmost in raising funds to be able to participate, however, it is recognised that for some this will be difficult. For these participants, scholarship assistance is available.
Participants will be assisted with fundraising advice and budgeting.
Action for Life does not end on the last day of the course! AfL participants will have access to many opportunities all over the world with the IofC network. Successful applicants are advised to be prepared to engage in at least 2 months of additional project work once AfL4 finishes. Projects and opportunities will be discussed further with each participant.
